Only one entry allowed per person for the entire Sweepstakes. Entries not selected for a drawing are automatically entered in the next drawing for the duration of the Sweepstakes. One Grand Prize drawing will be held on November 30, 2009. Mailed entries must be postmarked by November 1, 2009 and all entries received by November 15, 2009.
a. One Grand Prizewinner will be awarded 1,000,000 Starwood Preferred Guest® Starpoints® and an Avis certificate valid for rental of a full size vehicle for fifty (50) days (valued at $37,000 USD).
Sponsor assumes no responsibility for compliance with, or restriction imposed, by any governmental travel or entry requirements, such as visas, passport requirements or similar regulations, and takes no responsibility if the prize is unavailable for use by the contest prize winner due to any such regulations. All airline ticket vouchers or AmericanAirlines® Travel Certificates must be used within one (1) years from the drawing date or that portion of the prize will be forfeited. Use of the Travel Certificates or airline ticket vouchers must be in accordance with the terms and conditions stated on the Travel Certificates or airline vouchers. No refund or compensation will be made in the event of the cancellation or delay of any flight. Additional taxes/fees/surcharges/inspection and security fees may apply. Any tax liability or other government-imposed fees are the responsibility of the user. Travel and accommodations are subject to availability at time of reservation. Room reservations must be made at least 60 days in advance and are on a space-available basis. Availability is limited. Holiday and special event periods are excluded. Do not secure airline reservations until your accommodation dates are confirmed. Accommodations are for a maximum of two adults and up to two children under the age of 18. With the exception of the Grand Prize Winner, accommodations are one standard hotel type room. Stay must be consecutive nights. Travel is subject to the terms and conditions set forth in these Official Contest Rules, and those set forth by each airline as detailed in the passenger ticket contract. All expenses and incidental travel costs not expressly stated in the package description above, including but not limited to, additional ground transportation, meals, incidentals, passenger tariffs or duties, surcharges, airport fees, service charges or facility charges, personal charges at lodging, security fees, taxes or other expenses are the responsibility solely of each Prizewinner. Unless a child of the Prizewinner, travel companion must be eighteen (18) years of age or older as of the date of departure and must travel on same itinerary and at the same time as the Prizewinner. Quarterly Prizewinners will each receive a certificate from Avis valid for a five (5) day rental of a full-size vehicle with free time and mileage at the applicable winning destination. Grand Prize Winner will receive certificates from Avis valid for fifty (50) days of a full-size vehicle rental with free time and mileage to be used within the continental United States and Hawaii only. Other expenses including refueling, insurance, taxes, upgrades, damages and additional charges are the responsibility of each Prizewinner. Must present valid drivers' license and meet standards Avis rental requirements.
AmericanAirlines® Travel Certificates must be used in accordance with the terms and conditions stated on the Travel Certificates. Travel Certificates are not returnable or redeemable for cash, except where required by law. Lost, stolen or damaged Travel Certificates will not be replaced. Travel Certificates have no implied warranties and are not a credit or debit card. Travel using Travel Certificates does not qualify for American Airlines AAdvantage® mileage credit. Travel will be awarded in the form of 2 certificates each redeemable for roundtrip coach-class travel for one person on any Delta Air Lines/Delta Connection carrier flight in the 48 contiguous US states, Alaska, Mexico, Caribbean or Canada. Certificates must be used within one (1) year from the drawing date or that portion of the prize will be forfeited. Certificate seats are limited and may not be available on all flights or in all markets. Certificates are non-transferable and void if sold or bartered. The sale or barter of tickets obtained through redemption of certificates is also prohibited. Any tickets obtained through such sale or barter are void and will not be honored for travel. After ticketing, date, time and routing changes are permitted (subject to the availability of booking class) however a $50 fee applies. 3. QUALIFICATIONS:
Prizewinners must be Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) members in order to receive and redeem Starpoints. No purchase or fee is required to become a member. If you are not already a member of the SPG program, you will be enrolled automatically in the program should you be drawn as a Prizewinner. Odds of winning for any prize are the number of qualified entries received divided by one (1). All prizes will be awarded. For Ontario, Canada residents only: In order to win, the selected entrant must first correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question to be administered via telephone at a mutually convenient time.
4. VERIFICATION:
Potential Prizewinners will be notified within seven (7) days of drawing by e-mail, phone or overnight delivery. Prizewinners are subject to verification.
5. ELIGIBILITY:
Employees of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., and its subsidiaries, advertising agencies, affiliates, suppliers, and their families, prize providers and their subsidiaries, advertising agencies, affiliates, suppliers and their families are not eligible to participate. Void where prohibited or otherwise restricted by law. Taxes on prize, if any, are the sole responsibility of each Prizewinner. All travel arrangements and vacation activities are the sole responsibility of each Prizewinner. Prizes are not transferable. Potential Prizewinners are required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release and, where permitted by law, Publicity Release. If a Prizewinner is ineligible or prize notification is returned as undeliverable or Affidavit and Release are not returned within ten (10) days of notification, prize will be forfeited and an alternate Prizewinner selected. There will be no substitution of any prize, except at the Sponsor's sole discretion, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded. OPERATIONS: Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel or suspend the Contest should viruses, bugs or other causes beyond the control of Sponsor corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the Contest, and to select the Prizewinner(s) from entries received prior to the action taken. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of a person submitting an entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the person in whose name the e-mail account is registered.
8. RELEASE OF LIABILITY:
All entrants release, indemnify, and hold harmless Sponsor and each of its affiliates, subsidiaries, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, employees, prize providers and all others associated with the development and execution of this Contest from any and all liability with respect to or in any way arising from this Contest and/or acceptance, use or misuse of any Prize, including liability for personal injury, death, damage or loss.
9. USE OF STARPOINTS:
Starpoints will be automatically deposited into the Prizewinners' SPG account. Use of Starpoints is subject to the terms and conditions of the Starwood Preferred Guest program.
